LIFE SKILLS CLASSES

Visions’ practical, hands-on curriculum challenges students to think critically, reflect, communicate, and explore the world within and around them. We align our content with the World Health Organization, which defines Life Skills as the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life". Visions trainers work with school teachers to deliver Life Skills training during and after school hours in coordination with the Ministry of Education.

LEADERSHIP

SERVICE-LEARNING

We believe that ‘leadership is an action, not a position’. Our trainings help students cultivate the skills and tools they need to work as a team, plan, organize, budget, and execute. Leadership lessons are always grounded in practice, while values are discussed and reflected upon. Through Visions trainings, students open up, grow in confidence, dare to dream bigger, and learn how to lead with others.

Our work in communities is always led by local volunteers and youth leaders. Visions students further their leadership experience by carrying out projects in service of their community, and by organizing sports meets, talent shows, and other student-led school events. We uproot traditional, rote-based, hierarchical approaches by empowering students to ideate, plan, and carry out events that benefit their personal leadership development and the wider community.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Starting in the 3rd year of this program, Visions will selectively award scholarships to 25 qualified ‘Visions Leaders’. Such opportunities will help motivate students to complete the program, and will reward exceptional students with scholarship for higher education, vocational training courses, externships, and any other educational experience that will help them reach their goals.
